Sixteen Gigabit data connections with physical DIP controls
16 × Gigabit RJ45Non-PoE model3 physical DIP switchesBlack fanless slim design
The Zyxel GS1100-16ES provides sixteen Gigabit Ethernet data ports in a slim fanless chassis. Its Switchable-series design offers plug-and-play forwarding and three physical DIP switches for loop prevention, energy saving and port LEDs. This ES version does not supply PoE power to connected devices.
Best For: Quiet office and shop networks connecting PCs, printers and other devices that already have their own power.
Before you order: This is a data-only non-PoE switch. Cameras, access points and phones requiring Ethernet power need a separate suitable injector or another PoE switch. Use the external 12 V DC power adapter specified for the ES model, not the EPS model’s 54 V supply. Maintain ventilation and use desktop or supported wall placement.
What's in the Box
- Zyxel GS1100-16ES-EU0101F switch.
- Wall-mount kit; the model-specific manufacturer guide specifies an external power adapter.
- Confirm the regional power-lead arrangement: the current datasheet/store lists a cord while the guide distinguishes the adapter. Ethernet cables and powered endpoints are separate.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect up to sixteen wired Gigabit devices with plug-and-play forwarding.
- Toggle DIP 1 for loop prevention, DIP 2 for IEEE 802.3az EEE and DIP 3 for port LEDs.
- Use separate power for endpoints needing PoE.
- Place on a suitable surface or wall-mount with clearance for passive cooling.
What Will Not Work
- No PoE power output on any port.
- No SFP slots, 2.5G or 10G ports.
- No web-managed VLAN interface, SNMP or Layer 3 routing established for this Switchable model.
- Indoor 0–40°C operation and no model-specific rack-mount kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the ES power PoE devices?
No. This ES model supplies data only; use separately powered devices or a suitable external injector.
Does it have a web interface?
No web-managed VLAN interface is established. The three DIP controls are for loop prevention, EEE and LEDs.
What power supply does it use?
The exact manufacturer guide and rear image identify an external 12 V DC adapter. Confirm regional power-lead contents.
Can I rack-mount it?
It supports desktop and wall placement, with a wall kit included. No model-specific rack mounting is listed.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose the ES for data connectivity when devices have their own power. Its DIP switches offer a quick way to control loops, energy saving and visual indicators. If cameras or APs need Ethernet power, plan injectors separately or select an actual PoE model; similar GS1100 names do not imply the same hardware.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need sixteen quiet Gigabit data ports with simple physical controls.
✕ Skip it if You need PoE delivery, configurable web VLAN, fibre uplinks or multi-Gigabit access.
→ Also consider Endpoint power, DIP positions, correct 12 V adapter, cable routing and passive-cooling clearance.
