ASUS ROG Sheath II XXL — Coated Cooling Gaming Mouse Pad
900 x 400 mm1.5x smoother18% coolerFlat-stitched
The Sheath II is the rebuilt version of ASUS ROG’s desk mat, and ASUS quantifies almost every change rather than describing it. The surface is a textile weave with a special coating that makes it 1.5X smoother than standard fabrics, giving what ASUS calls a fast surface with adequate friction. The fabric is also a cooling fabric that dissipates heat 18% faster than standard materials — the difference you feel is a forearm that does not get sticky over a long session. The border uses anti-fray, flat-stitched edges with narrower and thinner stitching that is 12% less bulky and sits closer to the surface, so nothing catches under your palm. It measures 900 x 400 mm at 3 mm, which ASUS describes as a slightly cushioned surface, over a nonslip rubber base.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Measure the desk: 900 mm wide by 400 mm deep covers most of a standard desktop and will overhang the front edge of a shallow one. Understand the surface before choosing it — 1.5 times smoother than standard fabric means this mat leans fast. If you aim with your whole arm at low sensitivity and need the mouse to brake, a heavier control cloth suits you better. At 3 mm the cushioning ASUS mentions is slight rather than real padding, and there is no wrist rest and no lighting. Do not confuse it with the original Sheath, which is 440 mm deep rather than 400 but has no coating and no cooling fabric. On what is not published: ASUS gives no weight, no water- or oil-resistance grade, no washing instruction and no warranty term for the Sheath II, so we quote none of those.
Best For
✓ Warm rooms where a forearm sticks to the mat
✓ Players who want a fast surface at desk size
✓ Anyone whose palm catches on a raised stitched seam
✓ Desks where keyboard and mouse share one surface
✓ Optical and laser gaming mice
✓ Setups matching other ROG gear
Key Features
Cooling fabric, measured
ASUS publishes a figure rather than an adjective: the fabric dissipates heat 18% faster than standard materials, which is what stops a warm forearm sticking to the mat.
1.5x smoother than standard cloth
A coated textile weave tuned to be fast while keeping enough friction for the sensor to read the surface cleanly.
A flatter stitched edge
Anti-fray stitching that is 12% less bulky and sits closer to the surface, so the border protects the fabric without a ridge under your palm.
Slightly cushioned at 3 mm
ASUS describes a slightly cushioned surface rather than a bare sheet of cloth, which softens the feel without raising the mouse.

Singular Expert Insight
ASUS publishes numbers here where most brands publish adjectives — 1.5x smoother, 18% cooler, 12% flatter stitching — and the cooling figure is the one you notice by the third hour. Just be sure a fast surface is what you want. See our mouse pads and wrist rests and our wired mice.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a fast, coated, desk-sized mat with a cooling fabric and a stitched edge that stays out from under your palm.
Skip it if
You need the mouse to brake, you want published water resistance, or your desk is shallower than 400 mm.
Also consider
The ROG Scabbard II Extended if you want a published nano-coating, or the original ROG Sheath if depth matters more than surface.
