Belkin RockStar 3.5mm Audio + USB-C Charge Adapter — Black
Real 3.5 mm headphone jackUSB-C charging up to 60 WBuilt-in digital-to-analog converterListen and charge at once
The Belkin RockStar adapter (part number NPA004BTBK) turns the single USB-C port on a phone or tablet into two: a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB-C charging port, so you can listen and charge at the same time. Unlike a USB-C splitter, this gives you an actual 3.5 mm socket — your existing wired headphones plug straight in, with no second dongle. A built-in digital-to-analog converter does the conversion properly rather than relying on the phone having analogue audio on its USB-C pins, which most modern phones no longer do. Charging runs from 5 W up to 60 W and supports both Power Delivery and Quick Charge 2.0, so a phone or even a light laptop charges at a sensible rate while music plays. The cable is 19.6 cm with a TPE jacket and gloss polycarbonate housings.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Plugs into any device with a USB-C port. Belkin has tested it with the iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch, Google Pixel through the 3 XL, Samsung Galaxy S6 to S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note9 and Note20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Tab Pro, LG G6 and V30, Sony Xperia and Huawei P20. Important: the USB-C port on the adapter is charge only — it carries no data and no audio. Use the 3.5 mm jack for sound and the USB-C port for power. If you want two USB-C ports instead of a headphone jack, the Belkin Connect Audio + Charge adapter is the other version.
Best For
✓ Anyone with wired 3.5 mm headphones and a phone with no jack
✓ Long calls or flights where the phone must charge while in use
✓ Musicians and commuters using a favourite pair of wired earphones
✓ iPad Pro users who want analogue audio plus power
✓ Drivers connecting the phone to an aux-in socket while charging
✓ Anyone who does not want to carry two separate dongles
Key Features
A real headphone jack, with a DAC
The 3.5 mm socket is driven by a built-in digital-to-analog converter, so it works on phones that have no analogue output left. Passive adapters simply produce silence on those devices.
Charge and listen simultaneously
That is the whole point of the two ports: a single USB-C socket stops being a choice between sound and power on a long call or a flight.
5 W to 60 W, PD and Quick Charge 2.0
A wide charging range rather than a token trickle, covering phones, tablets and light laptops at their normal speed while audio plays.
Short and built to last
19.6 cm keeps it tidy behind a phone in a mount or a stand, with a flexible TPE jacket and moulded polycarbonate housings at each end.

Singular Expert Insight
Removing the headphone jack created two kinds of adapter, and the difference matters more than the price. The cheap kind is passive: it assumes the phone can still output analogue audio through the USB-C pins, and on most current phones it cannot, so it produces nothing. This one has its own digital-to-analog converter, which is why it works and why it costs more. The second thing to check is the charging range: 5 W to 60 W with Power Delivery means the phone charges at its normal speed rather than trickling while you listen. If your headphones are USB-C rather than 3.5 mm, take the Connect Audio + Charge version instead. See our headphones and phone accessories.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
Your phone or tablet has no headphone jack, you use wired 3.5 mm headphones, and you need to charge while listening.
Skip it if
Your headphones are USB-C — take the Connect Audio + Charge adapter — or you need data through the second port, which this does not carry.
Also consider
A USB-C charger to plug into the charging port, and a set of wired headphones if you are replacing a pair that came with a proprietary connector.
