The BlueOptics 10302-BO is a 10 Gbit SFP+ transceiver for single-mode fibre, reaching up to 10 km at 1310 nm over a duplex LC connection, with digital diagnostics. It is programmed with the coding of the Extreme Networks 10302, so Extreme Networks switches identify it as that part. BlueOptics builds it on its BO35J13610D hardware and backs it with a 5-year functional warranty. In practice, single-mode optics are the choice when a link leaves the building or runs several hundred metres: the OS2 fibre used by carriers and campus backbones carries the signal for kilometres with little loss. Before you order, confirm the fibre is single-mode at both ends and note the length and the number of patch panels on the way.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It is coded as an Extreme 10302, which is the LR (single-mode, 10 km) part. 10301 is the multimode SR part and 10338 is 10GBASE-T copper — one digit changes the product. It needs single-mode fibre (OS1/OS2): the orange or aqua multimode fibre in many racks looks the same but will not carry this link. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure? Is it the same as the original Extreme 10302?
It is a compatible module: the same 10GBASE-LR standard, 1310 nm and 10 km on single-mode fibre, programmed with the Extreme 10302 coding so the host accepts it. It carries BlueOptics’ own 5-year functional warranty instead of the original maker’s.
Is 10302 SR or LR?
LR. Extreme lists 10302 (also AA1403011-E6) as 10GBASE-LR for single-mode fibre up to 10 km. The multimode SR part is 10301.
Are fibre patch cords included?
No. You get 1 module. The patch cord for the Duplex LC/UPC connector, a matching module for the far end of the link and a fibre cleaning tool are bought separately. Tell us the distance and the fibre type and we quote the right cord.
Will it work in a switch from another brand?
BlueOptics programs each module with the coding of the original part it replaces. A host from another brand may reject it or show an “unsupported transceiver” message when the coding does not match — send us the switch or server model and we check it before you order.
