Club 3D CAC-1023 DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 Extension Cable 3 m — three more metres at the full 32.4 Gbps
32.4 Gbps HBR38K 60Hz with DSC 1.2Bidirectional · HDR3 m · 28AWG Ultra-Flex
The Club 3D CAC-1023 is a 3-metre DisplayPort 1.4 extension cable with a male plug at one end and a female socket at the other, designed to add reach to a DisplayPort run without dropping the link below HBR3 and its 32.4 Gbps ceiling. Sold under part number CAC-1023, it supports 8K 60Hz with Display Stream Compression 1.2, carries HDR and up to 32 audio channels, and uses 28AWG conductors inside a soft Ultra-Flex jacket that protects the cable from bends and deformation damage. Club 3D names it bidirectional in the product title itself, so it can be inserted at either end of the run, and both connectors latch. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is an extension rather than a standalone display cable — a normal DisplayPort cable still plugs into the female end. Signal integrity across the finished run depends on both cables together, so pairing a 28AWG HBR3 extension with a thin or older HBR2 primary cable limits the result to whatever the weaker link can carry. Reaching 8K 60Hz requires DSC 1.2 support on the graphics card and the monitor. Both ends are full-size DisplayPort, so Mini DisplayPort and USB-C sources need a different product. Note that three metres of extension on top of an existing cable is a long total run for passive copper — if you are heading past roughly six metres in total, an active repeater or a fibre-optic DisplayPort cable is the safer approach.
Key Features
Three metres, still HBR3
Rated to the full DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 specification at 32.4 Gbps, so the extension itself does not force the link down to HBR2. Club 3D publishes 8K 60Hz with DSC for this cable.
Bidirectional by design
Club 3D puts the word Bidirectional in the product name: the CAC-1023 can be plugged in at the graphics card end or at the monitor end. That is not true of every DisplayPort accessory — Club 3D own active optical cables are explicitly unidirectional.
DSC 1.2, HDR and 32-channel audio
Display Stream Compression 1.2 is the VESA visually lossless codec that makes 8K 60Hz fit inside the available bandwidth. HDR passes through, as do up to 32 audio channels, so nothing is lost by extending the run.
28AWG conductors and locking plugs
Thicker 28AWG conductors hold their signal better over the extra distance than the thin wire used in budget extensions, and the soft Ultra-Flex jacket protects the cable where it turns behind a desk. The DisplayPort connectors latch for a secure connection.

Singular Expert Insight
Most DisplayPort extensions on the market are an afterthought — thin wire and a moulded socket — and they turn a working high-refresh link into an intermittent one. The CAC-1023 is specified like a real cable: 28AWG conductors, HBR3, DSC 1.2, FEC and a stated bidirectional design. Even so, the honest rule is that an extension is a second choice. If the cable can simply be swapped, a single 5 m DisplayPort 1.4 run has one fewer connector pair in the path and is more reliable. An extension earns its place when the primary cable is already threaded through a desk grommet, a monitor arm or a wall, and pulling it out is the expensive part of the job. Its 2 m sibling, the CAC-1022, is the shorter version of exactly the same idea. Browse our DisplayPort cables and converters to compare single-run lengths, or our PC monitors if a new panel is what is driving the change.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
A DisplayPort cable is already routed through a desk, an arm or a wall, you need three more metres of reach, and you want the extension itself rated for the full 32.4 Gbps HBR3 link with DSC 1.2 and HDR rather than a thin generic part.
Skip it if
You can replace the existing cable — a single longer run is more reliable. Also skip it if the total run would exceed roughly six metres of passive copper, or if either end of your setup is Mini DisplayPort, USB-C or HDMI.
Also consider
The Club 3D CAC-1022, the same extension in 2 m; a 5 m single-run DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 cable if you can swap the cable outright; or an active DisplayPort repeater or fibre-optic DisplayPort cable for genuinely long runs.
