The Club 3D CAC-1336 is an active adapter that connects an HDMI source, such as a PC, laptop, console or media player, to a monitor that only has a USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) video input. Part number CAC-1336 has an HDMI male input plug, a USB-C female output and a Micro-USB female port for power.

It supports up to 4K at 120 Hz or 8K at 30 Hz according to the DP Alt Mode capability of the display, and comes with a 1 m USB-A to Micro-USB power cable.

Compatibility note: The conversion works in one direction only: HDMI source to USB-C display. It needs 5 V / 1.5 A on the Micro-USB port and works only with self-powered USB-C monitors; it does not charge a laptop and cannot turn a USB-C laptop port into an HDMI output. For the highest modes the display should support DSC 1.2.

Can I use the Club 3D CAC-1336 to connect my USB-C laptop to an HDMI TV?
No. It converts the other way: an HDMI source to a USB-C monitor. For a USB-C laptop to HDMI TV connection you need a USB-C (DP Alt Mode) to HDMI adapter or cable.
Why does the adapter need Micro-USB power?
The active HDMI-to-DisplayPort conversion chip needs 5 V / 1.5 A that an HDMI port cannot supply, so power it from a USB port on the source or a 5 V USB charger.
Will it work with a portable USB-C monitor that is powered by the laptop?
Only if the monitor has its own power supply. The CAC-1336 cannot deliver power to the display.
