BUYER'S GUIDE
Best For: Retail POS, pharmacy, healthcare, electronics manufacturing, and any environment requiring reliable reading of dense, small, or damaged barcodes. The HD imager is the right choice when a standard scanner misses codes.
GD4520 HD vs. Standard Range: The HD version reads denser barcodes at closer range with higher resolution. If your application involves tiny GS1 DataBar codes, pharmaceutical 2D matrix codes, or DPM engraved marks, HD is essential. For standard retail POS with regular label sizes, the standard range version is sufficient.
Know Before You Buy: This is a corded USB scanner — no Bluetooth. If wireless mobility is required, consider the Datalogic Gryphon GBT4500 cordless variant. IP52 protects against light dust and drips, not immersion.
Premium Build: At 161 g with a disinfectant-ready housing, 1.8 m drop resistance, and Datalogic's Three Green Lights (3GL) decode confirmation, the GD4520 is engineered for full-shift professional use — not a budget scanner.
