Delock USB 2.0 Dual Band WLAN ac/a/b/g/n Nano Stick 433 + 150 Mbps
Dual band Wi-Fi 5Nano sizeUSB 2.0Windows 7–11
The Delock 12461 is a USB 2.0 dual band WLAN nano stick that adds 802.11ac Wi-Fi to a laptop or desktop PC, with up to 433 Mbps on 5 GHz and 150 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. At just 22 x 16.4 x 8.5 mm it can stay permanently in a laptop USB-A port, which makes it a good replacement for a failed or 2.4 GHz-only internal Wi-Fi card.
It uses the Realtek RTL8811CU chipset with an internal 2 dBi PIFA antenna, supports WEP, WPA and WPA2 security, WPS and DFS, and runs on Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 11. The driver comes on the included CD.
Before you order: Delock lists Windows only — macOS and Linux are not officially supported. WPA3 is not listed, so it cannot join WPA3-only networks.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Delock USB 2.0 dual band WLAN nano stick
- Driver CD
- User manual
What It Means in Practice
- Connects an older laptop or PC to the less crowded 5 GHz band of a modern router
- Nano size means it can stay plugged in while the laptop is carried in a bag
- Real throughput suits browsing, streaming, video calls and office work
- A quick fix when an internal Wi-Fi card fails
What Will Not Work
- macOS and Linux are not officially supported
- It cannot connect to WPA3-only networks
- It is single-stream (1T1R) with an internal antenna, so range and speed are lower than larger external-antenna adapters
- It has no Bluetooth and no USB-C plug

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 12461 is the discreet option: plug it in and forget it, ideal for laptops. For a desktop far from the router, an adapter with an external high gain antenna such as the TP-Link Archer T3U Plus holds a stronger signal. See all our network adapters for wired and wireless options.
✓ Buy it if you need small, always-plugged-in dual band Wi-Fi for a Windows laptop or PC.
✕ Skip it if you use macOS or Linux, need WPA3, or need long range.
→ Also consider TP-Link Archer T3U Plus for range and speed, or Edimax EW-7611UCB if you also need Bluetooth.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your laptop, PC or console and the switch or router it will connect to, and we will check compatibility before you order.
