Equip 128962 — 5-Port USB-C Hub with 100 W Power Delivery
1 x USB-A at 5 Gbps2 x USB-A USB 2.0USB-C data port100 W PD charging
The Equip 128962 is a 100 mm aluminium bar that plugs into a USB-C laptop or tablet on a 15 cm captive cable and gives back four working sockets plus a charging input. One USB-A port runs at 5 Gbps, two more are USB 2.0, there is a USB-C data port, and the fifth connector takes up to 100 W of Power Delivery so the laptop keeps charging while the hub is in use. It weighs 23 grams.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things decide whether this is the right hub for you. First, only one of the three USB-A ports is 5 Gbps — the other two are USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps. Put an external SSD or a fast card reader in the 5 Gbps socket and keep the mouse, keyboard and dongles on the other two. Second, the USB-C connector marked PD is a charging input only: you plug your laptop’s own charger into it, up to 100 W, and it is not a data port. The separate USB-C data port carries data only — Equip publishes no video output and no DisplayPort Alt Mode, so this hub will not drive a monitor. The host plug is USB-C, so a machine with only USB-A ports cannot use it. Equip does not publish the speed of the USB-C data port, a chipset, or a per-port current figure.
Best For

✓ One fast device plus keyboard, mouse and receivers
✓ Travel — 23 g in an aluminium body 100 mm long
✓ MacBooks, Windows ultrabooks, Chromebooks and iPads with USB-C
✓ Anyone who wants charging and ports through a single laptop socket
Key Features
Charging stays connected
The USB-C PD port takes up to 100 W from your own laptop charger and passes it through, so the one port the hub occupies is not a port you lose. This is the reason to pick this hub over a plain three-port model.
One genuinely fast port
A USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB-A socket at up to 5 Gbps for a drive or a card reader, backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. The two remaining USB-A sockets are USB 2.0 and are there for peripherals.
A USB-C socket that is not the charger
As well as the PD input there is a dedicated USB-C data port, so a USB-C stick or a USB-C peripheral connects without an adapter.
Aluminium and pocket-sized
A silver aluminium shell 100 x 17.5 x 7.5 mm weighing 23 g, with a 15 cm integrated USB-C lead. Rated 0 to 45 degrees C.

Singular Expert Insight
The 100 W pass-through is what this hub is for. On a laptop with two USB-C ports and nothing else, a hub that occupies one of them and gives nothing back on charging is a poor trade — this one hands the socket back. The port mix is the compromise you accept for the size: one fast socket, two slow ones and a USB-C data port, in 23 grams of aluminium. Use the fast port for an external SSD or a flash drive and leave the USB 2.0 pair for input devices, and it behaves exactly as it should. If you also need a screen, this is the wrong category — ask us and we will look at docks instead.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You have a USB-C laptop or tablet, you need to keep it charging while you add ports, and one fast USB-A socket plus a couple of slow ones covers your peripherals.
Skip it if
Skip it if you need a monitor output, if you need more than one 5 Gbps port, or if your machine has no USB-C socket.
Also consider
A USB-C dock with HDMI or DisplayPort if a screen is part of the plan, or a plain 4-port 5 Gbps hub if charging is not.
