Equip 129412 Punch Down Tool with Wire Stripper

2-in-1 Tool110 Punch-DownCat 5e / Cat 6

The Equip 129412 is a pocket-sized 2-in-1 installer tool that combines a rotary cable-jacket stripper with a 110-type punch-down blade, made for terminating Cat 5, Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable on keystone jacks. At just 89.4 x 28.8 x 5.5 mm and about 10 g, part number 129412 fits in a shirt pocket or an installer pouch, so the stripping and seating of conductors can be done with one tool.

Compatibility note: The punch-down blade seats wires into 110-style IDC contacts but does not cut the excess conductor, so trim ends with side cutters afterwards. For LSA/Krone strips use a dedicated LSA tool such as the Equip 129119.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Equip 129412 strip Cat 6A or Cat 7 cable?
Equip rates the stripper for jackets of 5.0 to 6.2 mm, which covers most Cat 5e and standard Cat 6 cable. Many Cat 6A and Cat 7 installation cables are thicker than 6.2 mm, so for those a universal stripper with an adjustable range, such as the Equip 129407 (3.2-9.5 mm), is the better choice.
Is the Equip 129412 suitable for a full patch-panel installation?
It is ideal for occasional keystone terminations, repairs and service kits. For terminating whole patch panels or LSA strips, a full-size impact or LSA tool that presses and cuts in one step saves time and gives more consistent results.

Singular Expert Insight

We recommend the Equip 129412 as a low-cost, pocket-size backup for technicians who mainly install keystone jacks for network cables and want one tool for stripping and seating. It is not a replacement for a full-size punch-down tool, but it earns its place in every service bag.
✓ Buy it if you terminate a few Cat 5e/Cat 6 keystone jacks at a time and want stripping and punching in one light tool.
✕ Skip it if you work on LSA/Krone strips or need the tool to cut excess wire automatically.
→ Also consider Equip 129119 LSA Punch Down Tool (press and cut) or Equip 129407 Universal Stripping Tool (3.2-9.5 mm).
