i-tec U3HUB742 — Seven USB 3.0 Ports with Two Fast-Charge Ports
7 × USB 3.0, 5 Gbps2 × BC 1.2 charge ports12 V / 2 A adapter included90 cm detachable cable
The i-tec U3HUB742 gives a computer seven USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports at up to 5 Gbps, two of which support BC 1.2 fast charging for tablets and phones — i-tec identifies them as the two ports next to the LED. The 12 V / 2 A adapter is included and required, along with a detachable 90 cm USB-A-to-USB-B host cable. Part number U3HUB742 measures 133 × 60 × 27 mm, weighs 107 g and comes with i-tec’s 2-year warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Host connection is USB-A to USB-B using the supplied 90 cm cable; a USB-C-only laptop needs a C-to-B cable or a C-to-A adapter, not included. The hub will not run without its adapter — i-tec states seven-port operation requires it. Only two of the seven ports are the fast-charge ports; i-tec publishes no amperage figure for them beyond “BC 1.2”. No video, no Ethernet, no charging of the computer.
Best For
✓ Desktops and USB-A laptops short of ports
✓ Charging a tablet beside the PC
✓ Printers, scanners, drives and dongles on one machine
✓ Home offices replacing an unpowered hub
✓ PCs on the floor — the cable is 90 cm
✓ Anyone who wants the cable and adapter included
Key Features
Seven ports, two of them for charging
Five standard USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports plus two with BC 1.2 fast charging, so a tablet charges properly without occupying a data port you need.
Powered and complete
The 12 V / 2 A adapter with a 115 cm lead and the 90 cm A-to-B cable are both in the box, with surge and over-current protection built in.
Desk-friendly reach
133 × 60 × 27 mm and 107 g, with a detachable cable long enough to reach a tower under the desk. Plug and play on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iPadOS.

Singular Expert Insight
The U3HUB742 and the U3CHARGEHUB7 are the pair people mix up most in i-tec’s range: same brand, same port count, same style of host cable. Take this one when two proper tablet-charging ports are enough and you do not care about per-port switches, and the U3CHARGEHUB7 when you want to cut power to individual devices. Both are USB-A hubs, so a USB-C laptop that also needs charging and a screen is better served from our docking stations. Full range in our USB hubs. Not sure it fits your setup? Tell us your laptop or PC model and what you want to plug in and we will check it before you order.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need seven powered USB 3.0 ports on a USB-A computer, with two dedicated BC 1.2 charging ports and both cable and adapter supplied.
Skip it if
You want a switch on every port, 10 W charging on all seven, USB-C connectors, video or laptop charging.
Also consider
i-tec U3CHARGEHUB7 for per-port switches and 10 W on all seven ports; i-tec U3HUB778 for a metal 7-port hub that also runs bus-powered; TP-Link UH700 for seven ports with 1.5 A charging on three.
