Intellinet 19" Cable Entry Panel, 2U, with Brush Insert — Black
2U brush entry1.5 mm steel483 mm wideRAL 9004 black
The Intellinet 712774 is a 2U, 19-inch cable entry panel with a brush insert: it fills a two-unit gap in a server or network rack and lets patch cords, power leads and fibre jumpers pass through the bristles instead of through an open slot. It suits anyone tidying a switch or patch-panel area who wants cables to reach the rear of the cabinet without leaving a hole in the front.
The panel is made of 1.5 mm steel with a black finish (Intellinet specifies RAL 9004) and is designed for horizontal installation. The bristles close around the cables, so the rack front stays covered, dust entry is reduced and the cable bundle is protected against sharp edges.
Before you order: The panel is 2U tall. Make sure you have two free rack units in the position where you want it, and check that your cabinet uses standard 19-inch (482.6 mm) mounting rails.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Intellinet 19" 2U cable entry panel with brush insert
- Mounting screws and cage nuts are not listed by Intellinet — if your rack kit has run out, add a set of M6 screws and cage nuts to the order
What It Means in Practice
- Pass cables from the front of the rack to the rear without leaving an open 2U gap
- Lets you run patch cords between a patch panel and a switch mounted at different depths
- The bristles reduce dust ingress and help keep front-to-back airflow working as designed
- A 2U opening gives enough room for thick bundles or cables with moulded connectors
What Will Not Work
- It does not fit 10-inch mini racks — the panel is 483 mm wide for 19-inch rails only
- It is not a sealed IP-rated grommet; it reduces dust but does not make a cabinet dust-tight or water-resistant
- It does not provide strain relief or tie points on its own — use a lacing bar or cable manager for that
- It is designed for horizontal mounting, not for vertical cable channels at the side of the rack
Key Features
Brush insert
Flexible bristles close around the cables, keeping the rack front covered while cables pass through.
2U opening
A two-unit height gives more room than a 1U brush panel for larger bundles and connectors.
1.5 mm steel
Solid sheet-steel frame that stays flat when screwed to the front rails.
Black finish
Black RAL 9004 finish matches most black server and network cabinets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it with cables that already have connectors fitted?
Yes. The bristles part to let an RJ45 or LC connector through and close again around the cable, so you do not have to re-terminate anything.
Is RAL 9004 black the same as RAL 9005?
Both are black. RAL 9004 is a slightly deeper signal black; in most cabinets the difference is hard to see, but mention it if your rack must match exactly.
Should I choose 1U or 2U?
Choose 2U when you pass many cables or thick bundles in one place. For a handful of patch cords a 1U brush panel saves rack space.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A brush panel is the simplest way to stop a rack front from turning into a gap full of loose cables. The 2U version of this Intellinet panel gives room for dense bundles, and the 1.5 mm steel frame does not bend when tightened. Pair it with a lacing bar behind it for strain relief. Browse our

✓ Buy it if you need a 2U pass-through point for patch cords or power leads in a standard 19-inch rack.
✕ Skip it if you only pass a few cables — a 1U brush panel is enough — or your rack is a 10-inch model.
→ Also consider a 1U brush panel for lighter cable runs, or a lacing bar for strain relief behind the panel.
