The LANCOM SFP-SX-LC10 (article 61485) is a single 10 Gbit SFP+ transceiver for multimode fibre, reaching up to 300 m on 50/125 µm fibre at 850 nm with an LC duplex connector and digital diagnostics. It is the standard short-reach 10G optic for LANCOM switches and routers, used for uplinks and server links inside a building. Note that “LC10” means 10 Gbit, not 10 km. In practice, multimode optics are the cheaper choice for links inside one building: most server rooms and floor risers already carry OM3 or OM4 fibre, and the module plus a short LC patch cord is all a port needs. Before you order, check the fibre grade printed on the cable jacket and the real length of the run, including patch panels.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It needs an SFP+ (10G) port and a 10GBASE-SR module at the far end — it will not run in a 1G-only SFP port or link to a 1G SX module. It needs 50/125 µm multimode fibre. The name is close to SFP-SX-LC1 (61556), which is the 1G version. For ten modules at once, the bulk article is 60187. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure?
