The Lindy 40928 is a 5 m active adapter cable with a DisplayPort male connector on one end and an HDMI Type A male on the other. An active chipset converts DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 (18 Gbps), delivering up to 4096×2160 at 60Hz (4:4:4 8-bit or 4:2:2 12-bit) with HDR and multichannel audio.

Because the conversion is active, it works even with DisplayPort outputs that do not support dual-mode (DP++), such as many workstation and multi-output graphics cards.

Compatibility Note: Signal direction is one-way: DisplayPort source to HDMI display only. It will not connect an HDMI source to a DisplayPort monitor.

Yes. It contains an active converter, so it works with standard and non-DP++ DisplayPort outputs and needs no external power.
Can I use it to connect a laptop HDMI port to a DisplayPort monitor?
No. The 40928 converts in one direction only, from DisplayPort to HDMI. For HDMI to DisplayPort you need a dedicated powered converter.
