How to choose a CPU cooler
- Socket. Check that the cooler lists your socket (for example LGA1700, LGA1851, AM4 or AM5). Some need an extra mounting kit.
- Height. Compare the cooler height with the case's maximum; low-profile coolers suit small cases.
- TDP. Choose a cooler rated at or above the CPU's power; high-end CPUs need a large tower or liquid cooling.
- Memory clearance. Wide towers can block tall RAM heatsinks.
