Poly Savi 8220 UC — Stereo DECT Headset for the Computer
DECT range up to 180 mHybrid active noise cancellationCharging stand and travel case includedUp to 13 h talk time
The Poly Savi 8220 UC, part number 8D3F2AA, is a DECT headset for people who need to leave the desk and stay on the call. DECT gives it range and reliability that Bluetooth cannot match in a busy building — up to 180 metres in open space and about 55 metres in a typical office — and hybrid active noise cancellation with a physical switch on the earcup handles the room noise at the desk end. It is stereo, 160 g, runs up to 13 hours of talk time and comes with a charging stand and a travel case. The UC build is a computer headset: the DECT USB adapter in the box is what it connects through.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the UC configuration, which Poly’s own Savi 8210/8220 UC user guide describes as a computer-only system: headset, charging stand and a DECT USB adapter, with no desk phone connection. HP’s spec sheet for this part additionally lists Bluetooth 4.2, which belongs to the Savi 8200 Office base rather than to this UC configuration — we are giving you both because the difference decides whether this product suits you. If a desk phone or a mobile phone must reach this headset, order a Savi 8220 Office instead, which has the three-way base. Two more notes: the DECT adapter supplied here is USB-A, with a USB-A to USB-C adapter in the box for newer machines, and the mono equivalent is the Savi 8210 UC at 115 g if one open ear is wanted.
Best For
✓ Staff who walk away from the desk during calls
✓ Buildings where Bluetooth range is not enough
✓ Open-plan desks that also need active noise cancellation
✓ Softphone users who want a charging stand on the desk
✓ Sites that need DECT security rather than Bluetooth
✓ Roles that mix desk work and moving around a floor
Key Features
DECT range, not Bluetooth range
Up to 180 metres in open space and around 55 metres through a typical office, which is the practical reason DECT still exists alongside Bluetooth. You can take a call to another room and back. The system is DECT security certified.
Hybrid ANC with a real switch
Active noise cancellation with a physical slide switch on the earcup rather than buried in software. The outgoing side is handled by a noise-cancelling boom microphone with close-conversation limiting, so the person you are speaking to is not sharing the room with you.
A stand, a case and an adapter in the box
The charging stand sits on the desk so the headset is always on charge between calls, the travel case protects it in a bag, and both the USB-A DECT adapter and a USB-A to USB-C adapter are supplied. Very little is left to buy separately.
Controls where your hand lands
A volume wheel, a call button, mute, power and the ANC switch are all on the headset itself, with an LED for status. On a DECT headset that matters more than on a wired one, because you are often nowhere near the computer.

Singular Expert Insight
DECT is chosen over Bluetooth for two reasons — range and a radio that does not fight with everything else in the building — and the Savi 8220 UC is the straightforward way to get it on a computer desk. The decision that matters is UC versus Office. UC, this part, is a computer-only system with a USB DECT adapter. Office adds a base station that also handles a desk phone and a mobile, and costs accordingly. Buy UC when the softphone is the only thing anyone calls from, and Office when a desk phone is still in use. The second decision is 8210 mono versus 8220 stereo. Note also that some published material carries Bluetooth specifications across the whole Savi 8200 range; Poly’s own UC user guide does not describe Bluetooth in this configuration, so plan on DECT to the computer. The rest of the range is in office and VoIP headsets, and headphones covers listening-first models. Send us the desk setup and we will confirm which version fits.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your staff leave the desk during calls, the softphone on the computer is the only thing they call from, and you want ANC, a charging stand and a travel case in one box.
Skip it if
A desk phone or a mobile has to reach the same headset. That is the Savi 8220 Office with its three-way base, not this part.
Also consider
The Savi 8220 Office when a desk phone is involved, the mono Savi 8210 UC when one ear should stay open, or the Poly Voyager Focus 2 when Bluetooth range is enough and a smaller headset is preferred.
