StarTech.com SHELF-2U-14-CENTER-V — 91 kg Vented Shelf for 2-Post Racks
2U · 2-post91 kg static load356 mm deepVented tray
The StarTech.com SHELF-2U-14-CENTER-V is a 2U vented centre-mount shelf for 2-post 19-inch racks, 356 mm (14 in) deep with a 91 kg (200 lb) static load rating, for mounting routers, modems, small UPS units or appliances in an open 2-post relay rack.
Centre mount means the shelf fixes to the rack posts at its middle, with the tray extending equally forward and backward, which balances the load on a 2-post frame far better than a front-mount shelf. The tray is vented for airflow and is made of 1.6 mm (1/16 in) cold-rolled steel.
Before you order: This shelf is designed for 2-post racks. In a 4-post cabinet a front-mount cantilever or 4-point shelf is the correct choice.

What It Means in Practice
- Balanced mounting lets a 2-post rack carry up to 91 kg on one shelf, if the rack itself is rated for it.
- Ventilation holes let heat escape from devices sitting on the tray.
- 356 mm deep suits routers, firewalls and small appliances; larger devices overhang.
- Uses M6 cage nuts — make sure your posts have square holes.
What Will Not Work
- 4-post server cabinets — use a front-mount or 4-point shelf.
- Devices deeper than about 356 mm without overhang.
- Round-hole or threaded posts without matching screws.
- Sliding access — it is fixed.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
On a 2-post relay rack a centre-mount shelf is the safe choice, because it does not lever the posts forward. Pair it with our rack accessories range for cable management on the same frame.
✓ Buy it if you run an open 2-post rack and need a vented shelf for heavier devices.
✕ Skip it if you have a 4-post cabinet or your device is deeper than 356 mm.
→ Also consider the StarTech.com CABSHF2POSTV2 (2-post vented, 508 mm deep, 34 kg).
