The StarTech.com SHELF-2U-14-CENTER-V is a 2U vented centre-mount shelf for 2-post 19-inch racks, 356 mm (14 in) deep with a 91 kg (200 lb) static load rating, for mounting routers, modems, small UPS units or appliances in an open 2-post relay rack.
Centre mount means the shelf fixes to the rack posts at its middle, with the tray extending equally forward and backward, which balances the load on a 2-post frame far better than a front-mount shelf. The tray is vented for airflow and is made of 1.6 mm (1/16 in) cold-rolled steel.
Before you order: This shelf is designed for 2-post racks. In a 4-post cabinet a front-mount cantilever or 4-point shelf is the correct choice.
