The Wera Tool-Check PLUS 1 (part number 05049055001) is the upgraded version of Wera’s pocket bit-and-socket case. It adds a 813 Kraftform bit-holding screwdriver to the 8001 A Zyklop Mini 1 ratchet, and lifts most of the bits from Torsion to BiTorsion grade, whose softer torsion zone absorbs load peaks instead of passing them to the tip. Twenty-eight bits, including five tamper-resistant TORX BO, and seven metric Zyklop sockets from 5.5 to 13 mm fill a rigid case of 190 x 100 x 35 mm. Compatibility — check before buying:
The ratchet has a 1/4 inch hexagon bit drive, not a square drive; the 870/1 adaptor converts it so the Zyklop sockets can be used. Note that Wera’s own bullet claims 28 BiTorsion bits, but by the datasheet 22 are BiTorsion and 6 are plain Z — the five TORX BO and the 8 mm hex. The 8790 HMA sockets are for manual and non-impact power tool use, never for an impact wrench; BiTorsion is designed for rotary power screwdrivers, not impact drivers, whose matching Wera line is Impaktor. Nothing here is insulated or VDE-tested.

BiTorsion bits absorb the load peaks
Wera builds a deliberately softer torsion zone into the shank, so a torque spike twists the shank elastically instead of reaching the hard, brittle tip. That is what extends bit life on a cordless driver, and it is the main upgrade over the standard Tool-Check.
813 bit-holding screwdriver added
A straight Kraftform driver at 1/4 inch x 78 mm sits alongside the ratchet, so light fixings and final tightening do not tie up the ratchet. It is the single extra piece that takes the set from 38 to 39.
8001 A Zyklop Mini 1 ratchet
Drop-forged full-steel with 60 teeth and a 6 degree return angle, taking 1/4 inch bits directly. A thumbwheel spins the bit down and a lever reverses direction one-handed, and Wera rates the tool at over 65 Nm.
Five TORX BO security bits and seven sockets
TX 10 to TX 30 in the bore-hole version clear the securing pin in tamper-resistant TORX screws, and 8790 HMA Zyklop sockets cover 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 mm, colour-coded by size.

The step from Tool-Check to Tool-Check PLUS is really a decision about how you drive screws. If most of your work is by hand, the standard set does the same job for less; if a cordless driver is in your hand all day, BiTorsion is a genuine consumable-life upgrade because the torsion zone takes the spike that would otherwise chip the tip. The 813 screwdriver is the other half of the argument and more useful than it sounds, since a ratchet is a poor tool for the last careful quarter-turn. Two things to keep straight: the ratchet takes bits rather than sockets directly, and Wera’s claim of 28 BiTorsion bits is really 22.
