Case fans to improve airflow, lower temperatures or replace a noisy fan: 120 and 140 mm PWM fans, ARGB fans and multi-packs, plus small 40 to 92 mm fans for compact systems, network gear and servers. From ARCTIC, Xilence, StarTech.com, Iceberg Thermal, Sharkoon and be quiet!.
How to choose a case fan
- Size. Check the case's fan mounts (120 or 140 mm) and the hole spacing for small fans.
- Connector. 4-pin PWM fans adjust speed automatically from the motherboard; 3-pin fans run on voltage control. Some small fans use Molex.
- Lighting. ARGB fans need a 5V 3-pin ARGB header or a controller; they do not work on 12V RGB headers.
- Many fans. Use a fan hub or splitter if the board has too few headers.
